“Gauze Mahal” bid will be announced Friday
Bids to construct the controversial new St Johns County Health and Human Services Department, nicknamed by some local fiscally-conservative groups as the “Gauze Mahal”, were opened yesterday and Historic City News has learned that the winning bid will be announced tomorrow.

December 17 – County Commission Meeting
Chief of Police, Robert Hardwick, informed local Historic City News reporters that the City of St. Augustine Beach was selected as a National Award Winner for its outstanding participation in the “30th Anniversary National Night Out” crime, drug and violence prevention program.
Historic City honors veterans
Marci Larson informed local Historic City News reporters that St Augustine Vice-Mayor, Nancy Sikes-Kline, has been elected chairman of the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization Board for the coming year.

When the St Johns County Board of Commissioners convenes tomorrow morning, Tuesday December 17th at 9:00 a.m., hopefully, Item 9 on the infamous “consent agenda” will be pulled for further, public discussion, instead of being acted on by little more than a voice vote.
