Two more historic markers are being added to the surge over the past decade to identify historic sites in our oldest city. Since the early 2000’s the city, St. Augustine Archaeology Association and 40th ACCORD have been installing markers.
St Augustine Mayor Nancy Shaver addressed a group of St Johns County residents today who have banded together to form a solar co-op. The mission of the co-op is to make it cheaper and easier for homeowners and organizations to install solar panels, which can produce major savings on power bills.

Claudell Brooks (C.B.) Hinson passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Flagler Hospital. He turned 91-years-old on June 5th.
Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer Debbie Delgado has informed Historic City News that a construction open house is being hosted for the San Marco Avenue, May Street, and West San Carlos Avenue intersection improvement project as well as the May Street drainage project that will be starting next month.
The Florida Prosecution Attorneys Association announced to Historic City News today that longtime Assistant State Attorney David Smith was presented with the Gene Berry Award during their Conference in Bonita Springs on July 31st.
Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Debbie Delgado, that traffic will be impacted at the following
St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.
Be alert to lane closures and temporary detours, as well as increased congestion in these areas. FDOT employees and contractors will be working on the roadways and need your full attention.
