Negotiations for VA outpatient clinic stalled

Speaking before a larger than normal gathering of veterans during the recent meeting of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 6, Assistant County Administrator Jerry Cameron presented a brief timeline of communications between St. Johns County and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Festival commemorates passage of Civil Rights Act

While the nation marks the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Civil Rights Act on July 2, 1964, many in Northeast Florida remember the struggles of local citizens in helping to achieve that goal. The Florida Heritage Book Festival commemorates those struggles leading to the historic legislation with a 90-minute panel discussion on Saturday, September 27, featuring four distinguished panelists.

Busy weekend for St Johns County elections officials
Historic City News will be on hand at high noon tomorrow when qualifying week in St Johns County comes to a close and those candidates whose names will appear on the August Primary Election ballot will be known. After qualifying closes Friday at 12:00 p.m., no more candidates will be able to throw their hat into the ring this year, although some may drop out.
