Living historians portray first muster of American citizen soldiers
To honor the 450th anniversary the first muster of America’s original citizen-soldiers and the 450th birthday of the Florida National Guard, on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015, Florida Living History, Inc. will partner with the Florida National Guard and Florida Department of Military Affairs to present “First Muster 2015”.





Mayor Nancy Shaver and Fire Chief J C Costeira informed Historic City News that they will lead the Patriot’s Day “Ceremony of Remembrance” for those who died in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Fourteen years later, the City of St Augustine continues the annual tradition on Friday September 11th at 8:30 a.m.
Today, September 8, 2015, is the 450th anniversary of the founding of St Augustine, Florida — the oldest continuously occupied settlement of European origin in what would become the United States.
