Debra Rhodes Gibson, St. Johns County Public Library Director, informed Historic City News that our local Library System will join libraries nationwide in celebrating National Library Week April 12 – 18.
City seawall project will receive national award
Historic City News has learned that during the International Public Works Congress and Exposition being held in Phoenix August 30 – September 2, the City of St. Augustine’s Avenida Menendez Seawall Project will be recognized as “Project of the Year” in the $5-$25 million class.

This September, St. Augustine will commemorate 450 years as the oldest continuously occupied European settlement in the United States. Anniversary planning has been an arduous process for St. Augustine City officials — and with only six months to go, there is still much to be done.
