A 33 year old former employee of a DirecTV contractor collected over $500.00 for two DirecTV service calls that should have been free; one from an 86 year old Theodore Street resident and another from a Camden Cay Drive resident, according to a report filed yesterday morning with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
The former employee of WHITE GLOVES TECHNOLOGY, LLC in Orange Park, described as a white male 5’ 11†tall weighing 200 pounds whose last known address was in Lake City, took the fraudulent payments from the DirecTV customers.
According to a statement made by the co-owner of the company to the Sheriff’s Office, WHITE GLOVES TECHNOLOGY, LLC reimbursed both customers once they discovered what had happened — but now they are left holding the bag.
The DirecTV contractor reported that they have not seen or heard from the former employee since they became aware of this scheme to defraud. No information was included to indicate if there may have been additional victims.
