The father of a burglary victim is being credited with helping the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office track down a suspect in the case that played out over two counties in January.
“Our detectives have been investigating the case and getting leads since the incident happened Jan. 24.” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kevin Kelshaw said Friday.
“Actually the victim’s father (Terry Larkin) tracked down the rental truck that was used, which led detectives to identify at least one suspect,” said Kelshaw.
A 21-year-old St. Augustine man faces a variety of charges, including kidnapping, grand theft over $100,000, armed carjacking with a firearm or deadly weapon and robbery with a firearm.
