John Reardon reported to local Historic City News reporters that St. Augustine Community Orchestra will celebrate the holiday season this weekend with a special program titled “Sounds of the Season”.
St. Augustine Community Orchestra is now approaching a half century of existence and is one of St Augustine’s oldest cultural organizations.
There will be fantastic holiday selections in a festive spirit performed by Leroy Anderson, Katherine Davis and Newell Long.
In addition, the Bartram Trail High School’s 35 member chorus, directed by Barbara Mattingly, will present their special vocal arrangements of Christmas melodies with orchestral accompaniment – this is a special Audience Sing Along.
Bring your family and your friends and start the Holiday Season with music.
The program will be at the Lightner Museum, located at 25 Granada Street, on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. on December 4th. Wine and water will be available for donations. The Lightner Museum and the St. Johns County TDC are continuing sponsors of the Orchestra.
The encore performance will be held at 3:00 p.m. December 5th at the Switzerland Community Church, 2179 SR 13 in Switzerland in NW St. Johns County.
Admission is only $10 and children under 16 are admitted free. Become a Friend on Facebook @ Saint Augustine Community Orchestra or visit their website at StAugustineOrchestra.org.
