Local St. Augustine reporters at Historic City News have learned that when Fidelity Bank ordered an inspection of a foreclosed residence on Plaza Del Rio Drive, they discovered that two air conditioner compressors had been stolen.
According to the police report filed Tuesday, a bank employee can only estimate that the theft occurred sometime between Thursday, April 1st and Tuesday, June 8th.
The residence has been empty since it went into foreclosure.
The estimated replacement cost is $7,000.
Community Affairs Officer Barbara Clifford of the St. Augustine Police Department reports that the investigation is ongoing.
