Public Information Officer Debra Johnson reported to local St. Johns County news reporters that deputies in Flagler County are investigating a Palm Coast convenience store robbery that occurred early this morning.
Deputies reported that just before 2:00 a.m., a white male wearing a grey sweatshirt with a hood covering his head, entered the RaceTrac convenience store at 301 Palm Coast Parkway.
Johnson says that when the man asked the clerk for change, she responded that she could not open the register unless a purchase was made. At that moment, the robber demanded that the victim hand over all the money in the register; implying that he had a weapon concealed in his shirt.
The robber fled the scene; heading southbound across Palm Coast Parkway toward a path leading into the area known as “The Woodlands”.
A search was launched, but deputies were unable to locate the suspect.
Anyone with information on either of these incidents is asked to contact the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office at (386) 313-4911 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477).
