Historic City News local editor Michael Gold interviewed St. Johns County Sheriff David B. Shoar this evening and learned additional, disturbing news in the disappearance and probable homicide of Jan Dunn Keller.
48 year-old Keller went missing Monday when she did not show up for work; she teaches third grade at Kelley Smith Elementary School in Putnam County.
51 year-old Timothy Dale Rose, who shared the 1012 Enon Court home with Keller, was arrested this afternoon after he was released from the hospital. A warrant was obtained charging Rose with first degree premeditated murder.
Shoar told Historic City News that Rose was being questioned at this time and he will be booked into the St. Johns County Jail this evening.
Due to the postmortem mutilation of the victim’s body, identification of the victim has been hindered and positive identification is being withheld pending the autopsy examination. Detectives found the body wrapped in a tarp on the garage floor of the Enon Court home yesterday morning.
The investigation is continuing.
