Jennifer Tibbs announced to Historic City News reporters that the Junior Service League of St. Augustine will host its 19th annual Lighthouse 5K and Fun Run to be held in conjunction with the annual St. Augustine Lighthouse Festival.
Members of the Junior Service League and lighthouse volunteers are administering the event; which will be timed, from start-to-finish, by RaceSmith. Ancient City Road Runners will be helping with set-up of the course.
The run is Saturday, March19th, 2011 4 p.m. at the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum.
PACKET PICK UP: March 18th 3:30-6:30 on the Lighthouse porch (In front of the gift shop)
RACE TIMES: The 5K run begins at 4p.m. and the FUN RUN starts at 5:00p.m.
The run begins and ends at the Historic St. Augustine Lighthouse with a route along the scenic Anastasia Island waterfront.
“T-shirts are guaranteed to all entrants whose registrations are received by March 10th,” Tibbs told Historic City News. “T-shirts may not be available on race day or to late registrants.”
Proceeds benefit service projects of the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum and the Junior Service League of St. Augustine, Inc. The league is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1935 to address the civic, cultural, and service needs of our community.
