Gargoyle Advisor Brian Thompson informed Historic City News local reporters that the Flagler College online student newspaper and its co-editor were recognized with third-place awards at the annual Spring College Media Convention.
“The Gargoyle became an online-only publication last August, so it’s gratifying to know that all the work these students have done on our site has paid off,” Thompson said. “It’s not easy to get recognized on the national level with so many larger schools and publications out there, but our students really have been impressive this year.”
Thompson said that he was thrilled that The Gargoyle was recognized in the two categories – it was the first time the publication has won in the competition.
