This afternoon’s 3:00 p.m. workshop, where City Staff and commissioners continue to try to put together the pieces left broken by the now defunct First America Foundation, is scheduled to include a presentation from a Jacksonville advertising and public relations firm interested in being hired to manage the commemoration events.
The Dalton Agency, headed by Jacksonville University graduate Jim Dalton, is a national advertising and public relations firm, representing a wide range of global, national and regional clients. The agency is located at 140 West Monroe Street in Jacksonville, but reports to have offices in Orlando, St. Petersburg, Savannah and Columbia, South Carolina.
Dalton founded the Dalton Agency in 1989; and, he has led it from “start-up to over $45 million in capitalized billings” according to information published on the agency’s website. Dalton claims over 25 years of experience in advertising and marketing, specializing in account service, market research and strategic planning.
If you are planning to attend the workshop, it will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will be held in the Alcazar Room; on the first floor of City Hall, located at 75 King Street in St. Augustine. NOTE: Although the regular 5:00 p.m. St. Augustine City Commission meeting that follows will be broadcast live on Comcast Government TV (Cable Channel 3) and is streamed over the Internet, the 3:00 p.m. workshop is not televised.
