Historic City News has learned that Florida Highway Patrol dispatched troopers at 12:35 p.m. today in response to a reported aircraft crash landing at SR-A1A South at Cubbedge Road.
St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer, Sergeant Charles E. Mulligan, told local Historic City News reporters that a small general aviation aircraft was involved; carrying two persons on-board.
Troopers arrived about ten minutes ago to handle the investigation; however, Mulligan reports that when the airplane made its emergency landing, officers found that “all persons on-board and on the beach are fine.”
The incident occurred on the beach, north of the Crescent Beach Ramp, Mulligan said.
FHP has not reported if the pilot’s actions warrant pursuing charges — the investigation is in progress at this time.
