The St. Johns County Education Foundation reported to Historic City News that they recently hosted the first annual Back to School Bash in St. Augustine for the “Take Stock in Children” students.
The Foundation is the lead agency for the Take Stock in Children program; which increases high school graduation rates and expands college enrollment opportunities for students through mentoring and scholarships.
The Back to School Bash, held earlier this month, was a fantastic opportunity for mentors to spend time with their students and meet their families.
The bash was full of fun and games and gave all the students in the program an opportunity to win prizes donated from the community.
PaKua Martial Arts and Yoga donated gift certificates and Friends of the St. Augustine Amphitheater contributed with Hurley Clothing Company gift cards, backpacks and other merchandise.
Everyone had a great time and Foundation spokesperson, Katy Chubin, says those attending are looking forward to having more gatherings for the statewide organization.
