Historic City News has received a request from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office to publish the surveillance image of a man who is being sought in connection with burglaries that occurred to five vehicles and a home in the Hideaway Lake subdivision, off Old Moultrie Road earlier this month.
The suspect, observed on a surveillance camera in the area, entered the unlocked vehicles and, among the items removed were garage door openers, a DVD player, a knife, and a GPS unit.
Two cars and a home was entered in the 900 block of S. Garden Lake Dr., two vehicles were entered in the 600 block of S. Tree Garden Dr., and a car was entered in the 200 block of N. Hidden Tree Dr. All of the burglaries occurred in the early morning of October 7th.
A 43-year old victim was awakened at 4:00 a.m. by the entry door to his home from the garage. The victim went to investigate and observed a black male, unknown age, around 5’9” to 5’10” tall with a medium build inside his home.
When spotted the suspect fled and the Sheriff’s Office was contacted.
