The St. Johns County Attorney’s Office is inviting Historic City News readers to attend a workshop where they will present a proposed St. Johns County noise ordinance.
This advance workshop will provide an opportunity for the public to review the draft legislation and provide their input prior to the item coming before the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners for public hearing.
If you are interested in attending, the workshop will be held on Wednesday, January 19th at 9:00 a.m. in the St. Johns County Auditorium, located at 500 San Sebastian View in St. Augustine.
Revising the noise ordinance is intended to balance a positive business atmosphere with maintaining community standards, and make the regulation easier to enforce.
A copy of draft noise ordinance language will be available on the County website by this Friday, January 14th.
This workshop is preliminary — no binding decisions will be made at the meeting. Before final adoption of any noise ordinance, the Board of County Commissioners will hold a formal public hearing at a future date.
