WFOY President Kris Phillips informed Historic City News local reporters that the 16th Annual Retirement Expo will be held at the Ponce de Leon Mall in St Augustine from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13th.
The local radio station, who presents the popular annual event, is celebrating 75-years of broadcasting in St Johns County with music, food, free giveaways, drawings and raffles.
“The Newstalk 1240 WFOY Retirement Expo is a one-stop shop for retirees and their families to find out about local services that can benefit their lives”, Phillips told Historic City News. “We will have hourly prize giveaways, and, this year, visitors have a chance to win a flat screen television.”
A representative from the Social Security Administration will be on hand to answer questions about Social Security and Medicare benefits.
Admission is free to the event; sponsored in part by the Jacksonville Center for Clinical Research and Family KIA of St Augustine.
Phillips told reporters that Newstalk 1240 WFOY will be broadcasting live from the Mall and local businesses will be setting up exhibit booths as part of the Expo. WFOY will be interviewing vendors for on-the-spot special bargains and discounts, Phillips said.
Participants will have an opportunity to meet some of our local and statewide political candidates who will have a chance to speak.
