Historic City News received word that our readers are invited to attend a “meet and greet” with the six top applicants for the position of Chief of Police at 7:00 p.m. tonight; ending a search and outside evaluation of potential replacements for former chief Richard Hedges after his retirement earlier this year.
The consulting firm of Colin Baenziger & Associates was hired by the city to develop the six-candidate short list and the reception, being held at the Commission Meeting Room of the St Augustine Beach City Hall Monday evening, is hoped to help the commissioners, beach administration, and public to become better informed with their choices.
The top contenders for the position are:
Richard Blom Gwendolyn Boyd David Brannon Robert Hardwick Harold Rutledge Todd Thompson
Tuesday night, also at 7:00 p.m., the public is welcome to attend when the City Commission of the City of St Augustine Beach holds their special meeting to officially interview the applicants for the position of Police Chief.
At another meeting called the following night, also at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2012, the City Commission of the City of St Augustine Beach will select the new Chief of Police for the St. Augustine Beach Police Department.
The reception and subsequent two special meetings are all open to the public.
