Historic City News readers are asked to avoid Wildwood Drive between SR-207 and Treaty Park at this time, as members of the sheriff’s bomb squad examine a suspicious package discovered inside a roadside mailbox.
Sgt. Charles E. Mulligan told local reporters in St Augustine that deputies responded to the scene of Temple Bet Yam Synagogue in the 2000 block of Wildwood Drive just minutes ago to determine the contents of the package.
“At this time, there are no known threats to the facility,” Mulligan told Historic City News. “The team has just begun examination of the device utilizing a robot.”
Wildwood Drive has been closed, in both directions, to allow for a safe examination of the item.
