The City of St Augustine is alerting Historic City News readers to be expecting the Bridge of Lions to be closed for extended periods overnight on Thursday and Friday, September 27 and 28 for repairs.
The duration of the lane closures on both nights is from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
“These closures have become necessary to perform water line repairs under the roadway at the base of the western approach to the bridge,” Director of Public Affairs for the City of St Augustine Paul Williamson told reporters.
On Thursday night, only one lane of traffic will be closed with vehicles allowed to cross in alternating directions.
On Friday night, the bridge will be closed to traffic in both directions.
