Josh Cockrell, a spokesman for Rachael L Bennett, a small business owner who is running for St Johns County Commission, District 5, today announced to Historic City News that the Northeast Florida Builders Association has endorsed Bennett’s campaign.
“We are excited to support Rachael Bennett for the St Johns County Commission and looking forward to her bringing the knowledge and experience she has of the building industry to the St Johns County Commission,” stated Rick Morales, Chairman of the Northeast Florida Builders Association Political Action Committee.
Bennett told reporters that she is honored to have the support of the Northeast Florida Builders Association; noting that, as a planner and consultant, she is part of an industry that puts food on the table of families — from the concrete guys, to the roofers.
“Members of Northeast Florida Builders Association, and the industries it represents, have been hit hard by the struggling economy,” Bennett told Historic City News reporters today. “Their confidence in my leadership brings hope, once again, to St Johns County’s many families. I look forward to being the voice and leader that the voters can depend on.”
Cockrell said that Bennett is a conservative Republican, a staunch supporter of property rights, and believes in the importance of individual initiative, the entrepreneurial spirit and free enterprise as the basis of a healthy economic system.
“As a small business owner, she understands the need to cut government regulations, reduce taxes, limit the size of government, and create a business friendly environment to promote job growth,” Cockrell stated.
