Republican Party leaders in St Johns County will meet on Thursday, September 20, when their guest speaker will be Republican US congressional candidate, Ron Desantis of Ponte Vedra Beach; according to an announcement received by Historic City News this week.
Party chairman Harlan Mason told Historic City News editor Michael Gold that the regular monthly meeting date was changed to accommodate members attending the GOP convention in Tampa.
A social will precede the business meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Romney Victory Headquarters located in Suite 104 of the Westgate Shopping Center at 525 SR-16 in St Augustine.
On November 6th, Desantis will face Democrat opponent Heather Beaven of Palm Coast; after she eliminated Vipin Verma of Daytona Beach in the August Democratic primary.
Desantis, lead in the August Republican primary for the newly crafted 6th congressional district — which includes St Johns, Volusia, Flagler and Putnam counties; eliminating opponents Richard Clark, Fred Costello, Billy Kogut, Craig Miller, Alec Pueschel, and St Johns County School Board Chair Bev Slough of Fruit Cove.
