Communications Manager Michael Ryan reported to Historic City News that St Johns County residents could obtain free sand and bags to protect their property from flooding caused by the heavy rains associated with Tropical Storm Isaac beginning tomorrow morning.
Sand and bags will be provided to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28.
The St Johns County Road and Bridge Department is providing sand bags at three locations throughout the county including:
536 South Holmes Boulevard, St Augustine
Mills Field at 1805 Race Track Road, St Johns County
The Palm Valley Bridge on CR-210
Residents are asked to bring their own shovels. Sand and bags are being provided to County residents at no cost.
