In a report to Historic City News from The Florida Bar, 51-year-old Charles A. Esposito, who resides at 94 Fulton Place in Palm Coast, and practiced law at 400 South Ponce de Leon Boulevard in St Augustine, will be publicly reprimanded and is placed on probation for six months following a July 31 court order.
Esposito has been admitted to practice law in Florida since 1992, and is one among 17 attorneys to be disciplined by Florida Supreme Court orders issued between July 24 and September 6, 2012.
During the reporting period, four attorneys were disbarred, 10 were suspended, 3 were publicly reprimanded, one was placed on probation, and three were ordered to pay restitution.
In multiple instances, The Florida Bar says Esposito failed to properly communicate with clients, failed to provide adequate and competent representation, failed to promptly and reasonably consult with clients, and failed to give reasonable notice to clients upon termination of representation.
Also, Esposito did not clearly communicate client fees and scope of representation when retaining clients.
Supreme Court rules of professional conduct govern some 93,000-plus lawyers admitted to practice law in Florida, according to The Florida Bar and its Department of Lawyer Regulation.
