Laurie Sanderson reported the following St. Augustine and St. Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through the coming week.
Downtown St. Augustine: Temporary detours from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 6 for Pink up the Pace 5k Run/Walk. The race route is scheduled to begin at the Visitor Information Center on Castillo Drive, travel south on Avenida Menendez to Marine Street, travel west on South Street, south on Oneida Street, west on Cerro Street, north on M.L. King Avenue, east on Park Place, north on Cordova Street, east on Cathedral Street and north on St. George Street to the finish line. St. Augustine police will detour traffic.
State Road 13: Florida Power and Light will remove poles adjacent to the roadway from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday from County Road 16A to Switzerland. No lane closures are scheduled, but flaggers will be in the area assisting construction vehicles entering and leaving the area.
Also, daytime lane closures from State Road 16 to the Duval County line while crews repaint the roadway markings.
In addition, the speed limit is reduced for an intersection improvement while a roundabout is constructed just north of Riverwalk Boulevard. State Road 207: Daytime northbound lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Hastings Road to Old Dixie Highway for power pole replacement and maintenance on power lines.
Also, daytime lane closures from the Putnam County line to US 1 while crews repaint the roadway markings.
State Road 312: Traffic has been shifted on the eastbound lanes of the Mickler-O’Connell Bridge over the Matanzas River. Motorists should use caution while driving in the area as crews repair and repaint the bridge. Pedestrians are advised to avoid the east bridge.
State Road A1A: Daytime lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the intersection with Escambia Street for drainage work.
Also, daytime lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at 6100 A1A S., near the Treasure Beach Road intersection, for drainage work.
Also, daytime lane closures while crews repaint the roadway markings from the Flagler County line to Avenida Menendez.
US 1: Daytime northbound lane closures from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for turn lane construction between Abbotts Way and Las Calinas Boulevard, just north of International Golf Parkway. US 1: US 1 will be completely closed between King Street and Malaga Street Tuesday night and Wednesday night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for relocation of construction equipment and materials. King Street and Malaga Street may be used as alternate routes. Police will help direct traffic. Also, nighttime lane closures Monday night for northbound traffic starting at 7:30 p.m. to allow northbound traffic to shift onto the new San Sebastian River bridge by 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
