Laurie Sanderson reported the following St. Augustine and St. Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through the coming week.
Downtown St. Augustine:Motorists may encounter temporary delays, lane closures and flagging operations 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday along San Marco Avenue, Castillo Drive, W. Castillo Drive, Avenida Menendez, the Bridge of Lions, King Street, Cathedral Place, Cordova Street and Orange Street for the St. Augustine St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade is being held the week before St. Patrick’s Day to draw attention to the Celtic festivities in St. Augustine leading up to and including St. Patrick’s Day.
Interstate 95:Daytime southbound right lane closure from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday for routine bridge maintenance over State Road 16.
State Road 16: Daytime lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from Turning Point at Calvary Church, located at 3500 State Road 16, to I-95 for construction of a left turn lane at the church. State Road 207: Possible daytime shoulder closures Monday through Friday for delivery of equipment and materials to construct a multi-use trail from the end of the existing trail in Elkton to Armstrong Road.
State Road 207: No lane closures scheduled while crews construct a multi-use trail from Armstrong Road to Old State Road 207 in Spuds.
State Road 312: Possible nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. from US 1 to Old Moultrie Road for turn lane construction by St. Johns County. Questions may be directed to Project Manager Greg Caldwell in the St. Johns County Engineering Division at (904) 209-0132 orgcaldwell@sjcfl.us.
State Road A1A: Motorists should use caution while driving through the construction area at the Summer Haven bridges. The speed limit in this area is reduced to 40 mph.
State Road A1A: Daytime lane closures from the Flagler County line to Avenida Menendez Monday through Thursday while crews repaint the roadway markings, excluding the construction zone in Summer Haven.
US 1:Daytime lane closures from the Flagler County line to the Duval County line Monday through Thursday while crews repaint the roadway markings, excluding the construction zone at the San Sebastian River Bridge.
US 1: Possible nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. from the Kmart shopping center to the State Road 312 intersection for turn lane construction by St. Johns County. US 1: No lane closures are planned at the San Sebastian River Bridge from Saragossa Street to King Street for bridge replacement.
