A robbery occurred at the Hampton Inn located at 2525 County Road 208 in St Augustine just over an hour ago; St Johns County Sheriff’s investigators are asking Historic City News readers for help identifying and locating man responsible for the crime.
According to a statement from the hotel clerk involved, a black male, from his mid-20’s to mid-30’s, approximately 5’8”, wearing black pants and a white shirt, entered the lobby; accompanied by a white female, with blonde hair, wearing jeans and a turquoise colored top.
The clerk told detectives that the robber approached and struck him in the head with a handgun. Deputies believe the man fled in a light or cream-colored, 4-door passenger vehicle with dark tinted windows.
Paramedics stabilized the victim at the scene then transported him to Flagler Hospital in St Augustine for treatment.
