Angelina Gervasi, Office Coordinator for the St Johns County Public Library System invited local Historic City News readers to join Chairwoman Carolee Bertisch in welcoming two new members, and one reappointment, to the Library Advisory Board.
At their regular monthly meeting on June 13, Gervasi reported that new Board members, Barbara Parker and Christina Will now join the Board; William Napper will be reappointed.
Barbara Parker was appointed by the County Commissioners, representing District 2 on the Library Advisory Board. Ms. Parker is Director of Hastings Academy & Day School in Hastings, FL and an active member of the Hastings Friends of the Library. She has previously served on the Library Advisory Board as Chair.
Christina Will was appointed as an at-large representative on the Library Advisory Board. Ms. Will, Campus Librarian at St. Johns River State College, has a history of working in libraries doing student outreach and conducting training for the public.
Mr. William Napper was re-appointed to serve on the Library Advisory Board, representing District 3. Mr. Napper has been an active member on the Library Advisory Board since 2003.
The Library Advisory Board meets the second Wednesday of each month, at 9:30 a.m. The public is always welcome to attend these meetings. The Board was created in 1977 and serves as an advisory body to the Board of County Commissioners as a contact between citizens, the Library and the commission.
