Renuart is St Johns County House Representative

Posted on 11/07/201211/08/2012 By Historic City News

With 72.5% of the votes cast, St Johns County has a new Representative in the Florida House; Republican Ronald “Doc” Renuart won election last night with 63,599 votes; sending the Ponte Vedra Beach physician to Tallahassee for his second term — but first term in the newly crafted District 17.

Florida Representative Bill Proctor previously served the county in House District 20 which was one of the areas redrawn during the redistricting process. Proctor served 12-years in the House, reaching the term limit cap for his office.

Renuart prevailed in the Republican Primary Election against Mike Davis of St Augustine and Kim Kendall of St Johns. Angela Casey, running as a write-in candidate, withdrew. During the General Election yesterday, Renuart defeated Rebecca “Sue” Sharp who ran without party affiliation.

St Johns County is also included, along with all of Flagler and the northern part of Volusia County, in Florida House District 24. That seat was taken by Elkton businessman, Travis Hutson.
