The St Johns County Sheriff’s Office informed local Historic City News reporters that deputies responded last night at 10:40 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery at the Subway restaurant located at 8804 West Church Street in Hastings.
Surveillance video captured an image of the robber as he committed the crime and investigators are hoping that a reader will recognize the man and come forward with that information.
“According to witnesses, the suspect entered the store and ordered a meal,” Corporal Catherine Payne told reporters. “Once his meal was prepared, he indicated he was armed and ordered employees to give him an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.”
The robber is described as a white male, 25-30 years old, 6’0, and 250lbs.
Witnesses said the suspect was wearing a white shirt, dark colored pants, a gold colored watch, and appeared to have a “sleeve” tattoo on his right arm.
