Tickets are on sale now for next Sunday’s performance by the legendary band Chicago at the St Augustine Amphitheatre on April 7. Formed in 1967 in Chicago, the self-described “rock and roll band with horns” released their first album “Chicago Transit Authority” in 1969.
By July of that year, the album had reached the Top 20 on the charts without the benefit of a hit single. It was their first certified gold album and eventually went on to sell more than two million copies.
For over 40 years, Chicago has been entertaining audiences with their chart-topping music, and, this weekend, St Augustine audiences can enjoy their performance live.
Chicago is considered one of the longest running and most successful pop rock ‘n’ roll groups in history and has been second only to The Beach Boys in Billboard singles and albums chart success among American bands.
