Historic City News was informed that Saint Augustine Beach Civic Association members Frank Ward, Bob Samuels, Mike Mele and Paul Salva presented Betty Griffin House Joyce Mahr with a $7,000 donation from the 8th annual Taste of the Beach; held Sunday May 19, 2013 at the St Johns County Pier.
This year’s participants included Amici’s Italian Restaurant, Cafe 11, Mango Mango’s, Napoli’s Italian Restaurant, Panama Hattie’s, Coquina Beach Club, Salt Life Food Shack, Purple Olive, Red Frog & McToad’s Grub-n-Pub, South Beach Grille, Sunset Grill and Beach Garden Restaurant.
“I’d like to extend a special thank you to all the participating restaurants that help make this fund raiser for the Betty Griffin House fun and a success,” Executive Vice President Paul Slava told Historic City News local reporters. “This donation will go a long way to help the Betty Griffin House in its mission to assist victims of domestic violence.”
The Celebrity Judges this year included Mayor of St Augustine Beach, S. Gary Snodgrass; Chief of St Augustine Beach Police Department, Robert Hardwick; Council on Aging Executive Director, Cathy Brown; Director of the Scenic Highway, Sallie O’Hara; and the Executive Director of the Tourist Development Council, Glenn Hastings.
