Video surveillance from inside the bank reveals that the robbery was committed by a white man in his 40’s to early 50’s who committed the crime by handing a hand written note to a teller and demanding money.
“The robber told the teller that he had a bomb,” Samson told reporters. “She took him seriously and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.”
The police department received the call at 9:06 a.m. Friday, February 8.
The man fled through the east door of the bank; into the rear parking lot along Charlotte Street.
Police have deployed tracking K-9’s to assist in the search.
