While exploring old areas of storage, Jesse Olbrich reported to Historic City News that the Rangers of Castillo de San Marcos National Monument stumbled upon information relating to St Augustine’s ancient fort and the history of our ancestors who settled here.
These files, containing primary and secondary source information, have come to be known as the “Instant Expert Files”.
Periodically, with the cooperation of the National Park Service and its communications department, Historic City News will publish items discovered in those files which may serve to broaden our understanding of St Augustine’s and the Castillo’s past.
Tonight, we begin with part 1 of a 4-part series; “Economic Problems of Florida Governors 1700-1763”. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evening at about this time, each of the remaining installments will be published.
I have really enjoyed transcribing the original text provided. The story is both educational and entertaining. I hope you have as much fun reading them. I’m already looking forward to the next series.
