Over two-dozen reports of burglarized vehicles came in to Sheriff’s dispatchers early this morning; keeping deputies and St Augustine Beach police busy interviewing victims and witnesses, collecting evidence, and searching for those responsible for Thursday’s crime spree.
Surveillance video images have been provided to Historic City News in hopes that our readers can, once again, aide in the identification of the thieves involved.
“We are reminding the public to be vigilant about their surroundings,” Sheriff’s spokesperson Corporal Catherine Payne told reporters. “As a reminder, please lock your vehicles and store any valuables out of sight.”
Detectives have reported that, in most cases, this morning’s burglars gained entry to vehicles that were left unlocked. Windows were shattered in other vehicles and items in plain view were stolen.
