MoneyWi$e Week: Financial Planning Workshops
Wednesday, May 1 @ 10am – 3:30pm

The St Johns County Public Library System and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants are teaming up to celebrate MoneyWi$e Week April 29 – May 5, 2013. You may register for one or more of the workshops by contacting the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library at 827-6950.

Teen Gaming Night
Wednesday, May 1 from 5 – 7pm

All 13 – 18 year-olds are invited to have fun with your friends at the library and play “E” and “T”-rated games on our PlayStation 3 (with the new Move), Nintendo Wii, and X-Box 360 (with the new Kinect) set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing. Teens Read with Kids
Saturday, May 4 from 10am – 12pm

All children are invited to be read to by a teen or practice reading to a teen in the Children’s Department – this program is presented by the teens of Ponte Vedra High School’s Book Club. Select what you’d like to hear, read from any of our books, or bring your favorites from home. Please note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the program and to be a teen participating in the program, you must be a member of the Ponte Vedra High School Book Club.

Great Books Discussion Group
Monday, May 6 from 3 – 4:30pm

The Great Books Discussion Group is currently reading short stories from the “Seven Deadly Sins Sampler.” The next “deadly sin” to be discussed will be “Greed.” We welcome all interested readers. This program is made possible by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Teen Advisory Board presents Movie Night for All Ages

All ages are invited to join us to watch the newest adaptation of a popular Broadway musical starring Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway rated PG-13. From IMDB: In 19th-century France, Jean Valjean, who for decades has been hunted by the ruthless policeman Javert after he breaks parole, agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s daughter, Cosette. LEGO Club for Tweens

Tweens in 4th – 7th grades are invited to come to the library and bring your friends for an afternoon of fun building with Legos and hanging out. No registration is necessary and it’s free. Viva Florida 500: St Johns River – Past & Present

The St Johns River Alliance will present a program on the history of the St Johns River as well as their current efforts to help

Great Decisions

Free Nemours BrightStart Screenings for Ages 3 – 5
Tuesday, May 21 from 10am – 12:30pm

Children, ages 3 – 5, are invited to receive a free 10-minute Early Literacy Screening at the Library courtesy of Nemours BrightStart. Registration is taken on a first-come, first serve basis by a Nemours representative. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child’s literacy strengths lay and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school.
