Historic City News readers are being asked by law enforcement authorities to assist in locating an adult St Johns County woman who did not show up for work this morning, has and has not been seen by family members since late yesterday afternoon.
At this time, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Catherine Payne tells Historic City News that deputies on the ground in the Vermont Heights area are being aided by air patrol units in the search of the 3000 block of Tenth Street.
“We are looking for a 67-year-old white female, Barbara L Parchem,” Corporal Payne told reporters. “She was last seen wearing dark pants, a gray “hoodie,” and a dark colored shirt.”
Family members reported that they believe she is on foot somewhere in the area and they do not suspect foul play at this time; however, they say “it is highly unusual” that she would miss work without a phone call.
Parchem, who lives at 3276 Tenth Street, Elkton, is about 5’03, 100lbs, with brown eyes and short-brown hair with blonde highlights, according to the report.
There is concern for the missing woman’s welfare — based on recent medical events and statements made to family members.
Anyone who has had contact with Parchem or who may know her whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 or the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office at 904-824-8304 immediately.
