Yesterday, officers with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department in South Carolina arrested 54-year-old Craig Steven Ozarowski after he robbed a bank in their jurisdiction.
Using photographs provided in a nationwide alert by the St Augustine Police Department, investigators in Mt. Pleasant matched Ozarowski to the Wells Fargo Bank robbery that occurred at the Cathedral Place branch in St Augustine last week.
Ozarowski is seen wearing the same jacket in photos from both robberies. Police found white tennis shoes, similar to ones worn in the St Augustine bank robbery, in his hotel room.
Since 1975, Ozarowski has been arrested for 14 felonies including armed robbery. He served time in the federal prison system. He absconded from probation a couple of months ago and has reportedly committed nine additional armed robberies in the last three weeks.
Corporal Charles Simpson is currently working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation concerning the Wells Fargo Bank robbery. Additional charges against Ozarowski are pending.
