Shortly after 10:00 a.m. this morning, a man wearing a dark gray camouflage jacket and red and white Nike running shoes, walked into Wendy’s at 1830 US-1 South and demanded money from the cashier at the counter, according to a report received by Historic City News in St Augustine.
Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Kelshaw told reporters that witnesses to the robbery did not observe a weapon although the robber indicated that he was armed.
“No one was injured in this dangerous encounter,” Kelshaw said. “The cashier handed over a small amount of cash from her register.”
Once the robber had the cash in hand, the dark skinned black male, estimated to be in his 40’s, standing 6′- 6’1″ tall and weighing about 160-170 pounds, fled the scene on foot.
