Kay Wells asks Historic City News readers to attend the Third Annual Juried Member Photography Show presented by Saint Augustine Camera Club; opening Friday, April 4, at the Art Institute, located adjacent to the St Johns County Pier in St Augustine Beach.
The opening night party, with music, wine and food, will run from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. as part of the First Friday Art Walk event. Winners receive cash prizes and gift certificates from show sponsors.
The exhibit is a non-themed show, and the entries reveal the diverse interests and talents of the photographers, like “Marine Light” — submitted by Renee Sanderson; one of the entries in this year’s juried show. The Member Show runs through April; and, at its conclusion, will move into the Rotunda Gallery of the St Johns County Administration Palace for three months.
Saint Augustine Camera Club was established in September 2010, and has as its mission “to provide club members with educational information and enjoyable activities in the field of photography.” The club meets its mission with a series of lecturers, educational workshops, and field trips. Members take on a new assignment every month, and at meetings the resulting photos are shown and critiqued. The club meets at 6 pm on the third Thursday of every month at the Watson Realty Office on US-1 South in St Augustine.
Additional information about the club and its show can be found on their website.
