Navy League celebrates Battle of Midway

Kim Kendall, VP Public Relations for the St Augustine Navy League, has invited all veterans, either currently serving, or who have served in prior conflicts, to participate in an evening that includes fine dining and a memorable program in commemoration of the historic Battle of Midway.

Tickets are now on sale for the 72nd Anniversary of the Battle of Midway Commemoration Dinner and Program being held this year on Saturday, June 7th 2014, at the Renaissance World Golf Village Resort in St Augustine. Cocktails begin at 5:00 p.m., dinner is served at 7:00 p.m.

“The evening will be emotional and patriotic, and provides an excellent opportunity to connect with survivors of what historians call one of the U. S. Navy’s greatest sea victories and the turning point of World War II in the Pacific,” Kendall told local Historic City News reporters.

Tickets are mandatory and seating is by reservation only. Ticket sales will end May 30th, unless seating capacity is reached before that date.

The invited keynote speaker is Admiral Jonathan Greenert, Chief of Naval Operations.
The Navy Band will perform all the Service Songs, and there will be numerous historical displays. Medal of Honor recipients and former Prisoners of War from the local area will also be in attendance.

“Come meet these National Treasures and hear their adventures first hand,” Kendall added.

E-6 and below – $25
E-7 to O3 – $40
O4 to O5 – $50
O6 and above – $65
Prices for Civilians and Retirees – $65
