Today, Governor Rick Scott announced to Historic City News that Jim Johns has been selected as St. Johns County Commissioner representing District 1.
The 47-year-old James K. Johns, P.E. LEED A.P., resides at 336 North Elverton Place in St Johns and he has been a registered Republican in St Johns County since 2000.
Johns is the president of Solid Rock Engineering Consultants Inc. His office is located at 10365 South Hood Road, in Jacksonville. He received his Civil Engineering degree from the University of Florida and a B.S. in Applied Physics from Jacksonville University. Jim has been practicing Civil Engineering since 1992.
Johns has been appointed to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Representative Cyndi Stevenson, for a term beginning April 8, 2015, and ending November 15, 2016.
The list of self-nominated candidates under consideration included Kim Kendall, Brian Iannucci, Jack Capra, David Rice, Andrew DeCandis, Brad Nelson, Peter Apol, Kenneth Kinnecom, Frank Larizza Jr., Albert Abbatiello, Albert Aftoora, Jamie Seim, Carolyn Francis and Christopher DelBene.
