St. Johns County Fire Rescue spokesman Jeremy Robshaw announced to Historic City News that registration will open for the 2011 Jr. Lifeguard program beginning Monday, May 3rd at 8:00 a.m.
Students will be registered for the program on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Registration confirmation will not be completed until the student passes the swim evaluation and provides payment during one of the two posted evaluation dates.
During pre-registration students are only required to turn in the completed registration paperwork.
The purpose of the St. Johns County Junior Lifeguard Program is to increase self-confidence and promote safe behavior in the aquatic environment. Throughout the course, students will acquire a wide range of skills including first-aid, CPR and rescue techniques. Throughout the program, safety is our primary consideration.
