St Johns County Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes notified Historic City News that tomorrow, Friday December 16th, the first absentee ballots for the Presidential Preference Primary will be mailed.
Overseas and military voters who have a request on file are mailed their absentee ballots 45 days prior to an election.
Domestic absentee ballots will begin being mailed on Wednesday, December 28th, Oakes reported.
“The Presidential Preference Primary Election will be held on January 31, 2012,” Oakes told Historic City News. “It will be open to all registered Republicans.”
Voters still have time to request their absentee ballots and Vote by Mail by contacting the Supervisor of Elections office by phone, fax, mail, in person or online.
The deadline for requesting a ballot to be mailed is January 25th.
Florida is a Closed Primary State. The last day to register to vote or make a party change is January 3, 2012.
