Democrat Milissa M Holland, who lives in Palm Coast and turns 41 years-old next month, resigned Friday from the Flagler County Commission to run for the Florida House District 24 seat; encompassing southern St Johns County, all of Flagler County, and north Volusia County.
She faces former Palm Coast city clerk Douglas L Courtney in the Democratic Primary Election in August. Courtney, who turns 48 years-old next month, twice failed to unseat Rep. Bill Proctor, R-St. Augustine who has reached his term limit in the legislature this year.
Republican Travis Hutson, who already has the endorsements of Representative Proctor, Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Adam Putnam, and Florida Senator John Thrasher, R-St. Augustine, and others, awaits the winner in November’s General Election.
