The local St. Augustine news desk has learned that Sunday evening, Police Officer William Protami responded to a residence on Atlantic Avenue to investigate a residential burglary.
According to police, sometime between Saturday 03/27/2010 at about 4:30 p.m. and Sunday 03/28/2010 at about 4:16 p.m., the homeowner reported that someone broke into his home and stole a 42” plasma TV worth about $1600, as well as (5) speakers worth about $1000 and a laptop computer worth about $1600.
Further investigation revealed that entry to the house was made through a locked laundry room window. Apparently, someone was able to pry that window open, defeating the locking device.
Community Affairs Officer Barbara Clifford of the St. Augustine Police Department reports that evidence was taken from the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
