Historic City News has been following the lock-down of Flagler County high schools today while area law enforcement officials searched for the man they say made threats against Matanzas High School students on his Facebook page — that 20-year-old Palm Coast man is now under arrest.
William Hofer was charged Wednesday afternoon with issuing written threats to kill or do bodily harm.
He is being booked into the Flagler County Inmate Facility after being arrested outside a house on John Anderson Highway in Flagler Beach around 3:22 p.m.
As a result of the threats, three Flagler County school campuses had heightened security throughout the school day. The schools were Matanzas High School, Flagler Palm Coast High School and Daytona State College.
Hofer, a former DSC student, is a 2011 graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School.
In his posting, Hofer said he recently lost a “brother”.
Detectives determined that Hofer was referring to an acquaintance that was killed in a home invasion in Putnam County within the last week.
