Historic City News readers are being asked for help in collecting any available information concerning the Jacksonville man who was reported missing by his family late Tuesday night, April 27th, then located the following day in St. Johns County.
The body was discovered in the trunk of an abandoned vehicle located on St. Ambrose Church Road in Elkton. The medical examiner was able to positively identify the remains of 45 year-old James Vincent Brookins, who was last known to reside at 7500 Powers Avenue in Jacksonville.
Brookins manner of death has been determined to be homicide, although the exact cause of death is being withheld as the investigation continues.
Sheriff’s investigators believe someone may have information regarding this case and may have been reluctant to come forward in the past.
